The Beautiful Beach
The sand on Destin’s beaches is some of the whitest in the world. Locals say the sand shines just a little bit whiter in Crystal Beach. Why? Coming from the Appalachian Mountains, the sand in Crystal Beach is made of finely ground quartz crystal giving the appearance and texture of sugar. If you enjoy being barefoot, this will be heaven for you! Kids love this sand for its comfort, and of course, sand castle building.
The Emerald Green Water
Nothing can compare to the clear emerald green water of Crystal Beach. On a super clear day you can easily see the details of your toenails in the water. This also means that even standing in knee deep water, you can see tiny fish. Further out you can see dolphin frolicking in the water and occasiionally a flock of manta ray will glide past. We hear that even manatee have been seen at Crystal Beach! Since Destin lies along the Gulf Coast, the tides are gentle, the waves can be very active or flat like a lake- perfect for a newbie on a paddle board!
The Neighborhoods
Easily, the most sought after area of Destin, Crystal Beach boasts quaint coastal neighborhoods with cottages large and small, painted in soft tropical colors, surrounded by white picket fences. If you like to enjoy living like a local with privacy and yet, be near the action, Crystal Beach is the spot for you!
